A Soul Connection

The Rebbe’s soul connection with every single Jew made him into the spiritual leader of the Jewish nation. His genuine concern for each person in every way‚ irrespective of social standing and position‚ created a connection with every Jew.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe was a very dynamic person. Although he was a Chassidic Rebbe, his sphere of influence extended far beyond Chabad. Other Chassidic leaders and distinguished Torah personalities held him in very high esteem. Politicians, senior military figures, presidents, and world leaders corresponded with him often. Scientists and artists would consult his opinion, and Jewish people from all backgrounds and communities were inspired by his unique personality.

The Rebbe had many special qualities, each one of which was admirable in itself. He was a tremendous genius, expert in all aspects of the Torah, reaching new heights in Jewish thought. The Rebbe was also extremely educated in secular subjects, including modern science. His leadership qualities helped many people realize their potential. His vision was unique, giving him profound insights into various national and world issues. His love for every Jew and his ability to pay attention to even the most seemingly trivial issues, as well as his personal charisma, pleasantness, and impressive demeanor combined to make him into one of the most inspiring Jewish leaders in history.

However, above and beyond these qualities, the Rebbe’s personality “spoke” to every single Jew, no matter who he was, creating a soul connection with the Rebbe. The Rebbe was like one great soul, whose light and warmth infused all of our lesser souls.
