This was the fourth year in which the entire Jewish community in Ust-Kamenogorsk attended a Simchas Beis Hashoeiva Sukkos celebration. Shluchim Rabbi Shlomo and Brocha Torenheim hosted their visitors in the sukkah at the Ohel Eliezer Chabad Lubavitch Jewish Center in the city. The sukkah was built by a special team from the Timika factgory, which is owned by philanthropist Shlomo Geller.
Eveyrone was greeted by a large sign in Russian posted at the entrance to the sukkah, welcoming them inside. After reciting the blessing on the lulav, everyone enjoyed a delicious meaty barbecue. Rabbi Torenheim spoke about the significance of the Simchas Beis Hoshoeivah and the men sang and danced. The highlight of the celebration was when violinist Vladislav Yermakov provided musical entertainment, playing a variety of Jewish songs.
At the end, everyone received a special gift of a CD of Jewish songs to listen to at their leisure.
