This was not the consul’s first visit to a Chief Rabbi. When he was serving in Ukraine, he also became acquainted with the Jewish community and tried to be of assistance.
In a friendly conversation, the consul showed a keen interest in Jewish life in Kazakhstan, and he was very impressed by the many activities organized at the Jewish Center in Almaty, as well as everything done by the shluchim throughout the country.
Rabbi Cohen thanked the consul for his visit and gave him a blessing to continue to be successful in everything he does.
