NEW CHABAD SHLUCHIM- EMISSARIES TO KOSTANAY KAZAKHSTAN

Kostanay is a city located on the Tobol River in northern Kazakhstan, Asia. It was known as Nikolayevsk until 1895 and then as Kustanay until 1997.

On the anniversary of nearly 90 years since the liberation of the Previous  Rebbe from communist jail  and exile for spreading Yiddishkeit, Torah and Jewish life, Jews in  Kostanay are celebrating.

A young dynamic couple and their baby are enthusiastically embarking on a new journey of launching a Jewish renaissance in Kostanay.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel and Devorah Zalmanov with their infant son have courageously and happily moved to Kostanay. Planting new roots for a vibrant Jewish community.

The Zalmanov's first came to Alma Ata Kazakhstan to pray at the holy resting place of the Rebbe's father Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson. To receive blessings for success in their new leadership position.

The Alma Ata Jewish community, graciously and lovingly hosted a special celebration in honor of the young Zalmanov family.

Upon their arrival to Kostanay, the Zalmanov's were greeted warmly by the local Jewish community.

The Zalmanov's immediately launched a host of programs and activities. The Chabad Lubavitch Jewish center in Kostanay and it's Synagague are home base for the Zalmanov's.

The beautiful  Kostanay Synagague was built by Mr. Alexander Moskowitz in loving memory of his mother.
