The Kazakh postal authority has produced a colorful stamp depicting the magnificent Chabad shul in Almaty. The stamp is worth 25 tenge (about 20 cents).
Chief Rabbi of Kazakhstan and head shliach Rabbi Yeshayah Elazar Cohen is not surprised by the postal authority’s decision to put a picture of the shul on a stamp. “The government of Kazakhstan is very respectful towards the Jewish population, and it is therefore only natural that they would produce such a stamp,” he says.
